In just five years, Hublot has
become one of the most sought-out high-end watch brands with some of
its timepieces making watch history, such as the One Million
Dollar Big Bang, All
Black Big Bang and Mag Bang watches. After
signing sponsorship deals with FIFA World Cup and Formula 1 racing,
Hublot announces the renewal of its partnership with skiing star Bode
Miller who became the most decorated U.S. skier in Olympic history with 3
medals in Vancouver. Hublot’s relationship extends through the 2011
World Championships, where it will be the official timekeeper.
The Swiss watchmaker Hublot has extended its sponsorship of America’s
most decorated Olympic skier, Bode Miller, until 2011.
In 2008 Hublot was
bought by the LVMH group with Jean-Claude Biver undoubtedly enjoying
his constant challenge as CEO of the brand and leading the company’s
guiding principle of “Fusion,” which combines unusual materials such as
gold with ceramic, tantalum, magnesium and titanium with a modern
version of Hublot’s rubber strap.
Hublot’s continuing partnership with Miller was announced at a New
York City press conference and private luncheon, attended by friends and
VIPs at Cipriani Wall Street. Attendees included Hublot ambassador and
top model Veronica Varekova and supermodels Elena Kuletskaya, Kate Bock
and Michelle McCallum. Hublot recently issued the limited edition “Bode
Bang” (pictured below) to support Bode’s Turtle Ridge Foundation, which
encourages kids to live healthy lifestyles through sports.

Hublot created a watch
bearing the skier’s name after he revealed a fascination for the
expertise of watchmakers. “I always thought watches were neat, but I
love what Hublot and Jean-Claude have done with these unique materials
and fantastic rubber straps”, said Bode.
The decision to continue with Bode as a brand ambassador has been
announced just weeks after Bode reached new heights, winning a gold,
silver and bronze medal in the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. The new
partnership is thought to be worth US$100,000 to the athlete.
Hublot
also revealed plans to create another line of limited
edition watches for the athlete, after the Bode Bang, of which only 250
were made, sold out this year.
Chief executive of Hublot, Jean-Claude Biver, who made the
announcement at Cipriani Wall Street said, “We couldn’t be more proud of
Bode. He has become part of the Hublot family and to see him achieve
this historic feat is very emotional.
Although the 32-year-old Bode is yet to decide whether he’ll compete
in the 2014 Winter Olympics held in Russia, he is committed to the World
Cup next year.
