Superstar sprinter Usain Bolt (whom we spotted wearing a Hublot late last year – before it became ‘official’) recently took part in a charity event organized by the Swiss brand at its Nyon headquarters. Bolt pitted himself against 10 child athletes and in good fun he lost the race to all 10 of them. The result of this was a $100,000 donation by Hublot to the Usain Bolt Foundation, which was set up by the runner to support a number of projects in Jamaica focusing on education, health and development and will contribute in particular to actions carried out by “United Way of Jamaica”.
It was also noted that during his visit to Nyon, Bolt would “take part in a workshop session to develop the watch that is soon to be created in his name.” In other words — look for the Hublot Big Bang Bolt to be coming soon!!!
With the new Gold King Power foudroyante chronograph Hublot keeps digging its multimillion dollars bonanza, which is the Big Bang series of watches. First unveiled five years ago, the series proved a great success among the watch aficionados with limited edition models selling at a premium like pancakes on a hot day.
